Groton Food Locker

Please consider purchasing the following needed items the next time you shop for the Groton Food Locker: spaghetti sauce, jelly, canned fruit, Hamburger Helper, diapers – sizes 5 & 6.  Of course, other items are always appreciated!  You can leave your donations in the grocery cart and the Deacons will take them to the Food Locker each week.  Thank you for helping out local families!

Backpack Drive

Groton Human Services has a need for 30 backpacks to be filled with back to school items!  The Deacons will provide the backpacks – and we are asking you to provide the fill!  We are collecting donations today through next Sunday, August 22nd.  The following items are needed:  lined paper, notebooks, pens, pencils, markers, crayons, glue, scissors, and boxes of tissues.  If you prefer to give a monetary donation, we will gladly purchase the items for you!

Please place your items in the Deacons’ grocery cart and we will prepare the backpacks for the kids and take them to GHS the week of the 23rd.  Remember how great it was to have a new pencil and a new box of crayons when you were a kid?  Thank you for helping to make that memory for today’s children.  If you have any questions, please call Tammy Gibbs at 860-572-4446.  Thank you!

Don’t ever spend Another nickel!

St. Andrew Presbyterian Church has pledged to support Compassion International by committing ourselves to Nabaje Afusa from Uganda . She is our symbol of those around the world who are less fortunate.

Our other symbol is the nickel. Let all your nickels represent the needs of those who hunger and thirst in our world. Save them and bring them to the church and place them in the barrel with Nabaje’s picture on it.

Through Compassion International’s Child Support program, your gifts will feed, clothe, educate and provide medical care for this little girl. Nickels only! Don’t ever spend another nickel. Let them be a symbol of all that God has given to you, and all that we have to share with those in need. If you are interested in supporting a child through this organization, please speak with Rev. Mark.
